The opportunity

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Technical Manager to join the firm’s Legal Technology Solutions (LTS) group, providing the firm’s practice groups with cutting-edge document management solutions. You will work closely with legal teams and the LTS national team to deliver excellent solutions for both the teams and the firm’s clients. Your duties will include:

  • Working on Telesto client development activities collaboratively with LTS, senior lawyers and partners;
  • Providing technical solutions from a wide range of LTS electronic software tools and technology services;
  • Implementing innovative and efficient methods that facilitate both the forensic and standard collections, management, analysis, review and production of electronically stored information;
  • Assisting legal teams with document discovery protocols;
  • Creating and managing documentation pertaining to database creation and maintenance, document import and export, database archiving and restoration, and troubleshooting;
  • Providing technical support to legal teams during case preparation, document review and discovery phases of matters;
  • Using analytics tools to provide deep insights into datasets for the legal teams;
  • Implementing predictive coding methodologies to advance the review of documents;
  • Promoting and marketing legal technology services so that clients and legal teams are aware of the benefits and uses of the group;
  • Processing electronic documents to approved formats and preparing client proposals;
  • Assisting with systems training for new staff;
  • Liaising with bureaus regarding document processing; and
  • Providing regular reports/updates at LTS meetings.
About you

To be considered for this position, you must have:

  • An Information Technology-related degree;
  • Experience of working in a law firm (preferably top-tier);
  • Sound knowledge of database concepts and experience in the use of one or more database applications such as Ringtail, Relativity, Nuix, eDiscovery Tools or similar products;
  • Experience of database and full text software development/maintenance;
  • An understanding of data management;
  • Sound knowledge of Windows PC and Server environments;
  • Intermediate or above proficiency in SQL, HTML, MS Access and Excel;
  • Good ability to understand and modify source code (VB);
  • Ability to undertake forensic collections;
  • Technical writing / documentation experience (4+ years’ experience is highly regarded);
  • Excellent attention to detail and the ability to quality assure all work to a high standard;
  • Excellent analytical, interpretation and problem-solving abilities;
  • Ability to promote and encourage team spirit within the group;
  • Excellent communication skills with a friendly approach to staff and clients; and
  • Excellent organisational skills, a “can do” attitude and the ability to remain calm under pressure.

For the right candidate, our client is offering the necessary sponsorship to work in Australia and an attractive salary of AU$140-170,000 per annum (inclusive of superannuation), negotiable depending on experience.
