Matthew is a Director at Lex Conscientia with responsibility for business strategy and recruitment. His role encompasses business and strategy development, market research and building long-term business relationships and alliances. He represents Lex Conscientia at events and plays a leading role in delivering our services, including legal recruitment, writing/drafting and research.
Matthew studied law at the University of Bristol, where he was awarded the Simmons & Simmons Scholarship, before passing the Legal Practice Course with Distinction. He trained and qualified as a Solicitor at Clifford Chance in London, and has post-qualification experience of commercial litigation and contractual work.
After working for a number of years in the structural engineering field, Matthew was appointed Deputy Registrar of the London Court of International Arbitration (LCIA), one of the leading international institutions for commercial dispute resolution, playing a key role in the day-to-day operation of the Secretariat. In addition to his case management responsibilities, he sat on the Management Advisory Committee, attended meetings of the LCIA Board of Directors and represented the LCIA at events and conferences, in the UK and overseas.
