Matthew Sillett

Matthew is a Director at Lex Conscientia with responsibility for business strategy and recruitment. His role encompasses business and strategy development, market research and building long-term business relationships and alliances. He represents Lex Conscientia at events and plays a leading role in delivering our services, including legal recruitment, writing/drafting and research.

Matthew studied law at the University of Bristol, where he was awarded the Simmons & Simmons Scholarship, before passing the Legal Practice Course with Distinction. He trained and qualified as a Solicitor at Clifford Chance in London, and has post-qualification experience of commercial litigation and contractual work.

AAfter working for a number of years in the structural engineering field, Matthew was appointed Deputy Registrar of the London Court of International Arbitration (LCIA), one of the leading international institutions for commercial dispute resolution, playing a key role in the day-to-day operations of the Secretariat. In addition to his case management responsibilities, he sat on the Management Advisory Committee, attended meetings of the LCIA Board of Directors and represented the LCIA at events and conferences, in the UK and overseas.

At Lex Conscientia, we like to offer services tailored to the needs of our clients. In the recruitment field, we source exceptional candidates for our law firm clients and we are also proud to offer a bespoke placement service to select candidates.

Matthew then set up a partnership providing outsourced business development and consulting services to small businesses and he brings an eclectic mix of business and legal skills to Lex Conscientia.
